Become a Better Writer with New Book-Writing Series

Greetings, Author Friends,

Are you looking to become a better writer so you can write your book?

Mark your calendars for February 27, 2021 when I will debut my new “You’ve Got the Time” series of articles, stories, and interviews on the topic of how to write and publish that book that is already inside you.

Writing a Book a Reachable Vision

Have you ever considered writing a book? Did you dismiss the idea immediately as being unreachable? Then this journey is for you.

I’ll share my version of wisdom compiled from over fifty years as an author, editor, publisher, union activist, scholar, book coach, speaker, and celebrated hitchhiker and dishwasher going back to the Vietnam era underground press.

Some entries will be adapted from my book, You’ve Got the Time: How to Write and Publish That Book in You. Here’s what Hall of Fame member of the National Speakers Association Floyd Wickman had to say about it:

“Wow, Ken. The teachings within your book are Great. In retrospect at least 4 of my 8 books could’ve been so much more effective and personal had I read it 30 years ago. Speakers have things to share. Your book gives us another avenue to do so. Thanks and God bless you.”

Helping You Become a Better Writer

I’ll show you how to get started, including what supplies to purchase, how to create your writer’s space, how to find time in your busy schedule, how to freewrite your way to your table of contents, and how to name your files so you can find them when you need them.

Later pieces will reveal the art of writing (even if you stink at mechanics, grammar, and spelling), and your pathway through the new technology to publication.

You’ll learn how to find and approach experts and celebrities to write those forewords and testimonials that will give your book credibility and marketability; how to prepare for and conduct expert interviews so you can sound like an authority even when you know you aren’t one; and why you should look into audiobook production before you put away your ISBN sheet.

Which Path to Book Publication?

Should you publish through an established publishing company or create your own company and publish it yourself? I will discuss pros and cons of both ways. For those of you who are able to attract the interest of another company, I’ll reach into my thirty years of experience as a book contract adviser with the National Writers Union and teach you how to decipher the boilerplate contract and negotiate yourself a better one.

Along the way, I’ll share interviews with some of the legends in their fields: Cathy Fyock, Lois Creamer, Jeffrey Hayzlett, David Newman, and others.
